This isn't really a poem.
"I wanted to tell you I made it home safely
I wanted to tell you I love you
I wanted to say goodnight
When I woke up I wanted to say good morning
I wanted to know how slept
I wanted to find out how your day was going
I wanted to know your plans for tonight
I wanted you to know I love you
I wanted you to know I miss you
I wanted you to know how much this hurts
I wanted you to know how terrible my day was without you
I wanted to tell you
I just wanted you to know"
